Pay as Cross Country posts it: about $1,932 a week in all, a taxable rate of $20 an hour plus $1,211.62 a week in housing and meal stipends.

Job Summary

Registered Nurse (RN) - Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in the region. This position involves providing specialized nursing care for patients requiring intermediate level monitoring and treatment. The role includes managing a diverse patient population with diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, dysrhythmias, chest pain, stroke, respiratory illnesses, and infections, among others. The assignment emphasizes teamwork, clinical skill, and adaptability within a family-oriented unit.

Job Details

• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications, 18 months of PCU RN experience, and eligible to accept first-time travelers.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with tracheostomies, cardiac agent administration, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, and central line management.
• Float: Float rotation may be required within the region and scope of practice, including facilities within Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division (medical centers). Floating mid-shift will be compensated for travel time.
• Support within the Department: CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) for ADL assistance, charge nurse resources, phlebotomy capabilities (excluding nurse draws), IV/VAT Team, RT (Respiratory Therapy), hospitalist, intensivist, telemetry monitoring at bedside and nurses' station.
• Technology/Equipment: EMR system (EPIC), infusion alarms with IV pumps, medication dispensing (Omnicell), Phillips monitors.
• Orientation: 2 days departmental orientation and facility-specific training.
• Scheduling: Every other weekend rotation, potential for low census call back (up to 3a for nights, 3p for days), holiday work expected at 75%.
• RTO: Up to 6 days off approved, excluding holidays. Additional time may be required post-contract if needed to meet total hours.
• Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks.
