The Activity Assistant organizes and participates in person-specific activity programming, including one to one interventions, small group facilitation, and large group presentations. Capable of documenting individual participation and value of approaches in the medical record.Job functions will include:Assist with planning, coordinating and implementing activities to meet the physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual and emotional needs of our residentsCreate environments where moments of joy, independence, and wellness are the focus each and every dayHelp design programs to encourage socializationProvide entertainment, relaxation, and fulfillment and improve daily living skillsPrepare and maintain reports on resident's progressEnsure activity areas are safe and well maintainedGenerate enthusiasm to encourage and motivate participationIdeal candidates will have:A passion for working with peopleExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain cooperative working relationshipsEffective communication skills, both verbal and non-verbalProblem-solving skillsThe ability to remain calm and adapt to changing situationsAbility to work under stress while remaining caring and kindAbility to understand and work in a variety of situations in a positive and constructive mannerExcellent organizational skills with the ability to set and meet deadlinesAbility to be imaginative, creative, and innovativemusical/ arts crafts experience preferred
