BLS ARRT or ARMRIT (Advanced MR certification) Job Details

Under general supervision, the MRI technologist will safely perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies using a magnetic resonance imaging system. Responsibilities include preparing patients, positioning, setting imaging parameters, acquiring images, performing computer processing, and displaying images. Select appropriate imaging protocols for patient studies and perform quality assurance scans as required. Work cohesively as a team member within the MRI Department and consult appropriate content experts as needed. Rotate to MRI scanners across the assigned department as needed. Confirm patient identity and exam ordered per Joint Commission guidelines. Prepare patients, position for exam, set imaging parameters per protocol, perform computer processing, and display images for clinical and research patients. Competent in performing routine outpatient exams with and without contrast. Optimize scan parameters due to patient condition to maintain diagnostic quality. Manage MRI safety components for all exams and participate in clinical care coordination. Insert IV catheters as needed and perform intravenous injection of MR contrast agents including use of MR compatible power injector. Communicate possible contraindications and monitor for adverse reactions to MR contrast agents. Record all information regarding contrast injections appropriately in electronic medical record (EMR). Perform point of care testing (POCT) where applicable. Instruct patients and visitors on MRI safety procedures and ensure adherence to safety policies. Function as final checkpoint prior to scanning for patient safety and protocol clarification. Identify hazardous system malfunctions; secure area and remove patients and personnel during emergency situations. Perform scheduled quality control procedures on MRI scanner and related equipment and report equipment problems. Assist other department staff in various duties such as scheduling, transporting patients, inventory, and filing. Job Requirements

Completion of a Medical Imaging Program (certificate or diploma) required; Associate's degree preferred. BLS certification required within 90 days of hire. Advanced MR certification (ARRT or ARMRIT) required within 12 months of hire date. Primary source verification of professional license and/or certification required within 30 days of start date; MA Conditional Licenses not accepted. Documentation of TB skin test screening within 3 months of start date and updated if break >6 months. Fit Test (N95) within 365 days of start date and updated annually; no exemptions allowed. Respirator Medical Clearance (RMC) Attestation required if fit test is required. Documentation of MMR vaccination or immunity required. Physician Health Statement within 365 days of start date and updated if >6 month break. Criminal background checks including Massachusetts CORI and national sex offender check required within specified timeframes. Completion of MGB Skills Checklist within 1 year of submission. References and resume including past 7 years of work experience required for submission. Education verification and other professional checks as required. Schedule Information

40 hours per week. Saturday: 16 hours, 6am to 11pm. Sunday: 16 hours, 6am to 11pm. Thursday: 2:30pm to 11pm. Division open 7 days/week from 5:30am to 11:00pm. Additional Details
