Position Summary

The Part-Time Worship Minister exists to support the mission of Bedico Baptist Church by leading the congregation in Christ-centered worship that honors God, supports biblical teaching, and encourages spiritual growth within the church body.

This position provides leadership, planning, coordination, and execution of worship services and worship-related ministries while serving alongside the Senior Pastor, church leadership, volunteers, and ministry teams.

The Worship Minister is expected to model Christian character, integrity, servant leadership, teamwork, and doctrinal alignment consistent with the mission and ministry philosophy of Bedico Baptist Church and the Baptist Faith and Message.

Primary Responsibilities

Worship Leadership

•     Lead congregational worship during scheduled worship services and designated church events

•     Plan worship sets and service flow in coordination with the Senior Pastor or designated leadership

•     Select biblically sound music aligned with the church’s doctrine, vision, and teaching emphasis

•     Lead rehearsals for worship team members and musicians

•     Coordinate vocalists, musicians, media, and technical support volunteers as needed

Ministry Planning & Coordination

•     Prepare worship schedules for volunteers, musicians, and technical teams

•     Coordinate special services including Easter, Christmas, conferences, funerals, weddings, and church events as requested

•     Maintain ownership and oversight of sound booth equipment, software, and technical operations

•     Assist in maintaining worship ministry organization, equipment, music resources, and service preparation

•     Coordinate with media and technical teams regarding worship service and livestream needs

Volunteer Leadership

•     Recruit, mentor, disciple, and encourage worship ministry volunteers

•     Foster a healthy, Christ-centered worship team culture

•     Provide leadership, accountability, and communication to worship team participants

•     Assist in identifying and mentoring future worship leaders and musicians

Administrative Responsibilities

•     Maintain communication with ministry volunteers regarding schedules, rehearsals, and service expectations

•     Attend ministry planning meetings, staff meetings, and leadership meetings as requested

•     Submit ministry-related expenses, requests, and reports in accordance with church policies

•     Assist with copyright licensing, worship planning resources, and media coordination when applicable

Spiritual & Ministry Expectations

•     Support and uphold the doctrine, mission, values, and leadership of Bedico Baptist Church

•     Maintain a lifestyle and testimony consistent with biblical standards and Christian leadership

•     Participate faithfully in the life and ministry of the church

•     Serve cooperatively with church staff, volunteers, deacons, and ministry leadership teams

•     Demonstrate professionalism, humility, integrity, and servant leadership in all ministry responsibilities

Reporting Structure

The Part-Time Worship Minister reports directly to the Senior Pastor and works cooperatively with church staff, worship volunteers, audio/visual teams, and ministry leadership.

Accountability will be maintained through regular communication, ministry planning meetings, periodic evaluations, adherence to church policies, and alignment with the mission and doctrinal beliefs of Bedico Baptist Church and the Baptist Faith and Message.

Required Qualifications

Spiritual Qualifications

•     Profess a personal relationship with Jesus Christ

•     Demonstrate spiritual maturity and a Christ-like lifestyle

•     Be in agreement with the doctrine, mission, and values of Bedico Baptist Church and the Baptist Faith and Message

•     Maintain active participation in the life and worship of the church

•     Demonstrate the ability to lead others spiritually through worship and ministry leadership

•     Demonstrate biblical leadership qualities consistent with 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9

Ministry Qualifications

•     Ability to lead worship vocally and/or instrumentally

•     Ability to lead and work effectively with volunteers and musicians

•     Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills

•     Ability to plan and coordinate worship services in a structured and timely manner

•     Ability to work collaboratively with church leadership and ministry teams

Preferred Qualifications

•     Seminary training, Bible college education, or formal ministry education preferred

•     Prior experience serving in a Southern Baptist or evangelical church environment preferred

•     Experience leading congregational worship in a church setting preferred

•     Familiarity with worship planning software, presentation software, livestream systems, and church media technology preferred

•     Basic understanding of sound, media, and production coordination preferred

Safety & Compliance Requirements

•     Successful completion of background screening

•     Compliance with all Bedico Baptist Church personnel policies and ministry procedures

•     Completion of any required ministry safety or child protection training if participating in student or children’s ministry events

Time Expectations

This is a part-time ministerial position with hours varying based on ministry season, worship planning needs, rehearsals, church events, and special services.

Schedules may include evenings, weekends, rehearsals, worship services, conferences, and retreats.

Weekly Expectations Include

•     Sunday morning worship services

•     Weekly worship rehearsals

•     Worship service preparation and planning

•     Volunteer communication, scheduling, and mentorship

•     Staff meetings and ministry planning meetings

•     Seasonal church events and special services

•     Coordination with media, production, and technical volunteers

•     Office hours and administrative preparation to be determined by the Senior Pastor

Office & Availability Expectations

•     Maintain regular communication and accessibility with church leadership, volunteers, and ministry teams

•     Timely communication regarding scheduling conflicts, absences, or ministry concerns

•     Attendance and punctuality for rehearsals, services, meetings, and ministry functions

Statement of Faith & Conduct

Because Bedico Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist church and religious nonprofit organization, all ministerial staff members are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with the church’s statement of faith, biblical standards of conduct, and the mission and ministry philosophy of Bedico Baptist Church and the Baptist Faith and Message.

Physical Requirements

•     Ability to stand for extended periods during rehearsals and worship services

•     Ability to lift and transport basic music or audio equipment as necessary

•     Ability to participate in rehearsals, worship services, conferences, and ministry events

•     Ability to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings
