Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department provides comprehensive nursing care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients presenting with a wide range of medical conditions. This role involves performing assessments, delivering emergency interventions, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring age-appropriate assessments and safety.
  
  
• 
  Perform triage according to the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) 5-level process.
  
  
• 
  Document nursing interventions and patient responses accurately, maintaining legal and medical standards.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, ancillary staff, and outside agencies to deliver efficient and cost-effective care.
  
  
• 
  Prioritize and coordinate care for multiple patients, ensuring timely intervention and patient flow.
  
  
• 
  Respond calmly and decisively to crises, utilizing delegation and communication skills to manage high-stress situations.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Hold an active Wisconsin Registered Nursing license or valid Compact Licensure.
  
  
• 
  Possess a two-year nursing degree; a four-year degree is preferred.
  
  
• 
  Maintain current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications; ATCN preferred.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years of relevant emergency nursing experience.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in clinical practice.
