Charge Lead Nurse

2 East is a 16 bed Observation Unit consisting of patients that are expected to stay in the hospital for less than 24 hours. Patients are often awaiting testing or results that will determine if they are able to go home or need to be admitted to another unit. The unit has a growing unit council to help with shared governance decision making. We also promote continuing education and development for staff.

This Magnet-designated facility provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for its patients and is one of four recipients of the Truven Health Advantage Award in the category of Health and Clinical Outcomes. It is home to nine university affiliated residency programs. Here, you will find a Level II trauma center that is a nationally recognized heart, vascular and pulmonary specialties along with other specialties like orthopedics, neurosurgery, and women's health.

The Charge Lead Nurse role is to provide direct oversight and supervision of all on line unit processes. This is inclusive of but not limited to staffing and scheduling changes affecting current shift, patient care issues and concerns. Appropriate allocation of resources responding to all codes, and handling employee issues and concerns. In addition to ensuring consistent flow of patients through the department. Functions within the framework of policies and procedures of the hospital and demonstrates growth/development.

Qualifications: Required Associate's Degree or equivalent Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Preferred Bachelor's Degree BSN. Required Bachelor's Degree For new hires or recent promotions with ADN or Diploma, must complete BSN within 5 years of hire. 2 years of relevant experience recent nursing experience. Required LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Upon Hire required Or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Upon Hire required Or CRT-At least one Certification from preferred list - UNKNOWN Unknown Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation Upon Hire required.
