Senior Electrical Engineer Power Generation
$60 - $80 per hourPeterson Technology
** This is an onsite position at Birmingham, AL**
Our Client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer responsible for electrical design and technical execution of power-generation and energy-infrastructure EPC projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design medium- and high-voltage electrical systems
- Develop one-line and three-line diagrams
- Develop equipment and substation layouts
- Design grounding, lighting and cable systems
- Develop MCC and protective relay systems
- Perform/review load-flow, short-circuit and arc-flash studies
- Develop equipment specifications
- Review vendor proposals and drawings
- Support FAT/SAT, commissioning and startup
- Mentor junior engineers/designers
Required
- BS Electrical Engineering
- 8+ years electrical engineering experience
- Industrial, power or EPC experience
- Medium/high-voltage power distribution knowledge
- NEC, NESC, IEEE, NFPA and ANSI knowledge
Preferred
- PE license
- Simple/combined-cycle experience
- Substation/transmission experience
- ETAP, SKM or EasyPower
- AutoCAD/Revit/Navisworks
Rate: $60/hr- $80/hr (depends on experience level). This is a contract position with consultants expected to work 40 hours a week.
