Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Accountant for a contract opportunity with a great client in the Lynwood, CA area. This position will provide additional support to the accounting and finance team, with a primary focus on year-end audit preparation, reconciliations, and general accounting activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting foundation, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to step into a busy environment and assist with a variety of accounting projects. Responsibilities: Assist with year-end audit preparation and respond to audit-related requests Prepare and complete bank and general ledger account reconciliations Research and resolve account discrepancies Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation Assist with general ledger maintenance and account analysis Review financial data for accuracy and completeness Compile schedules, reports, and supporting documentation for year-end activities Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities Support the Finance/Accounting team with additional accounting projects as needed Qualifications: Previous professional accounting experience Strong experience with bank and account reconciliations General ledger and journal entry experience Experience assisting with audits and/or year-end close preferred Municipal, governmental, or other public-sector accounting experience is a plus Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred Strong Excel skills and ability to work with financial data Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
