Our client in McKinney is looking to hire a Tax Manager to join their team in the McKinney office. In this HYBRID role you will help to manage the tax practice, set policy, review returns, collaborate with their business services teams and prepare some of the more complex tax returns. is growth potential for this role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Staff Development & Mentorship

• Coach & Educate: Train, mentor, and supervise tax staff. Conduct continuous on-the-job training and periodic technical updates.
• Empower Teams: Delegate effectively, review work, and provide actionable, constructive feedback to help staff build confidence and technical expertise.
• Career Cultivation: Identify areas of improvement and create personalized development plans for direct reports to foster high retention and engagement.

Client Communication & Advisory

• Proactive Advising: Guide clients through complex tax rules, identify tax-saving opportunities, and offer innovative planning solutions.
• Relationship Building: Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring clear and timely communication regarding engagements, deliverables, and tax implications.
• Elevate Service: Transform the traditional compliance process into a high-value advisory experience.

Practice Development & Culture Building

• Inspire Advocacy: Build a highly motivated team that is proud of the firm's culture, resulting in organic business development and new client referrals.
• Business Development: Actively participate in sales calls, draft proposals, and help generate new business by cross-selling firm services to existing clients.
• Process Improvement: Seek out and implement operational efficiencies that reduce burnout and improve overall workflow.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• ?Bachelor's degree in accounting
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing
• QuickBooks experience
• 6-8 years experience as a CPA in public accounting
• 3-4 years supervisory and review experience
• Business and personal tax experience
• Exceptional computer skills, including CCH Axcess, Autoflow & XCM Workflow, Microsoft Office and databases; Experience with Karbon a plus
