Step into a dynamic contract opportunity supporting students within a virtual school framework, working alongside a dedicated Special Education Director. Located within commuting distance of Trussville, AL, this role is perfect for experienced Special Education Teachers ready to provide crucial support in a unique blended learning environment. The assignment is scheduled to run through June 11, 2027, offering stable part-time hours—approximately 10 to 20 per week—focused on a manageable caseload of about seven students.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Active Special Education Teacher certification in Alabama
- Proven experience supporting students in virtual or blended educational settings
- Ability to deliver individualized instruction and IEP compliance
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for making a difference in the lives of students requiring specialized services
- Comfortable working onsite and collaborating with district-level leadership
- Flexibility to adapt to evolving educational practices and platforms
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs for assigned students
- Collaborate closely with the Special Education Director and district office team
- Engage with students both onsite and through virtual tools, as applicable
- Assess, document, and report student progress regularly
- Maintain compliance with state and federal special education laws
- Participate in team meetings and contribute expertise to inform instructional decisions
