The opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Claim Representative to join our Workers compensation team based in our Plymouth, MN; Denver, CO; New York City, NY; Chicago, IL; Alpharetta, GA; Irvine, CA; offices on a hybrid schedule. Some of the Senior Claim Representative responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Makes timely and appropriate contacts, determines and completes appropriate level of investigation to make determination of coverage, assess liability and determine damages. Takes a recorded statement from all parties involved in the claim when appropriate for the type of claim being handled.
• Determines exposure, establishes adequate reserves and makes timely adjustments as required.

• Responsible for managing workers’ compensation claims from initial report through resolution. Investigates claims, determines compensability, coordinates medical treatment and return-to-work efforts, communicates with injured employees, employers, medical providers, and attorneys, and ensures compliance with applicable state regulations. Evaluates claim exposures, manages reserves, negotiates settlements, and maintains accurate claim documentation while delivering timely and effective claim outcomes.

• Determines settlement value of the loss and negotiates proper settlement of claims within authority.  Provides recommendations for settlement and disposition of claims exceeding authority level.
• Stays abreast of state license requirements and participates in continuing education as required.

The expertise you bring

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.

• 3-5 years of progressively complex claims experience. (Removing Specialty) as some may not know what this means.

• Experience handling Workers Compensation Claims in multiple jurisdictions.

• Active multi-state licensing.  For example, TX, FL, NY, CA.  

Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires; however, your recruiter will provide more specific compensation details during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is: $70,000 - $88,000 based on the factors aforementioned. For candidates located in San Francisco, CA; Washington DC; our Massachusetts based offices and the New York City metro area, the base salary range is $88,000 - $92,000. In addition to base salary, full time Intact employees are also eligible for bonus potential and a full range of benefits to include but not limited to:
