Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: NOC Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 18 months in specialty within the past 3 years License: GA or compact license in hand Certifications: CCRN preferred Must-Have: Requires PA lines. Experience with low acuity critical care patients. Ability to accommodate LVADs, 2-4 drips, arterial lines, and PA catheters. Description: The position is for a step-down unit specializing in heart and vascular care. The unit will have a high patient volume and a fast-paced environment. There will be a variety of patient diagnoses. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about various cardiovascular procedures and diagnoses. Working on this unit will help develop organizational skills and critical thinking. It will also provide an opportunity to enhance assessment skills in critical care. Candidates will need to take a rhythm identification test upon starting. The test will be proctored, and candidates will have two attempts to pass. It is important to note that this role does not involve ventilators, CRRT, Impellas, or IABPs. Patients may include those awaiting placement in heart or vascular ICU or step-down units. The unit may also serve as an observation area for patients requiring extended monitoring after same-day procedures.
