The primary responsibilities include developing accurate project cost estimates by analyzing data, cost drivers, and presenting detailed reviews to support decision-making at every level.This role reports directly to the Head Analyst and offers the chance to drive success on major projects by providing critical insights and recommendations.Primary DutiesCreate detailed cost projections for wet infrastructure projects, covering labor, materials, equipment, and related expenses.Participate in client meetings and site visits to gather essential information during the pre-bid process.Analyze project documentation to accurately define scopes of work.Communicate estimate assumptions, resource needs, and cost breakdowns effectively.Collaborate closely with internal teams, project managers, and clients throughout the estimation phase.Utilize approved costing methods and historical data to develop consistent estimates.Lead bid reviews to ensure alignment with company goals and client expectations.Mentor junior staff and offer support and training as needed.Assist project teams post-award with takeoffs, change orders, and cost forecasting.Review bid submissions and subcontractor proposals.Provide leadership support for the department as required.Perform additional duties as directed by senior management.QualificationsMinimum of ten years in project cost estimating or management within wet pipeline construction.Thorough understanding of civil drawings, water standards, and project specifications.Experience with plan takeoffs using software like Planswift, OST, or Bluebeam.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.Demonstrated skill in training and guiding junior staff.Technical Skills & ExpertiseExpertise in construction techniques, methods, and sequencing.Ability to develop detailed cost estimates for various project components.Experience with quantity takeoff and cost analysis.Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, HCSS, Sage, or Bluebeam.Capability to interpret complex plans and specifications.Familiarity with market pricing, unit costs, and cost trends.Proven track record in generating competitive bids and proposals.Understanding of value engineering, risk assessment, and constructability.Strong mathematical, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.Communication & LeadershipExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to present estimates to various stakeholders.Skilled in negotiating with subcontractors and suppliers.Proven ability to collaborate across different functions.Experience in mentoring and developing teams.Strong relationship-building capabilities.Professional AttributesCollaborative and humble leadership style.Keen attention to detail and accuracy.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.Integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment in all interactions.EducationBachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred.Equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.Why Choose UsJoin an award-winning employer that values expertise, teamwork, and personal development.
