Certified Surgical Technician (CST)
This is a contract position for a Certified Surgical Technician in the Operating Room. The duration of the assignment is 13 weeks. The position requires on-call shifts of 4 to 5 shifts per 6-week period minimum and 4 to 5 late shifts per 6-week period. Weekend shifts are available. The unit consists of 22 operating rooms and is not a trauma hospital. The unit is staffed by approximately 80 personnel. Staffing includes a mix of charges, RNs, CNAs, and sitters, with one team always in-house. There is a patient ratio of 1:1. The equipment utilized includes robotics, cardiac, vascular, neuro, spine, oncology, orthopedics, plastics, urology, and gynecology. The electronic medical records system in use is Meditech. Permanent positions are available for surgical technicians. The ideal candidate is flexible, a team player, self-directed, and maintains a positive attitude. Scrubs are provided, and closed-toe non-slip shoes are required. The unit has low turnover and has successfully transitioned contract staff to permanent roles. Teamwork is highly valued, and the environment is supportive and collaborative.
