Cardiac Telemetry Travel Nurse

RTO after booking is not allowed and is not allowed to be worked out onsite. Any call offs or additional RTO on unit, could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR.

Required Skills / Certs / Exp:

• Minimum Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor required.
• Traveler Experience: Required UNLESS traveler has more than 24 months of cardiac experience.
• Locals Accepted / Rate Difference: Yes
• Skills: Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Sheath Removal, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, Titrate Cardiac drips, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleuravac, External CPAP/BIPAP, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management
• Certs: BLS & ACLS, NIHSS
• Preferred Skills / Certs / Exp: Arterial line management, Wound Care/Wound Vac, and Charge Experience

Job Details:

• Ratios: Varies per acuity. Ratios are 1:4 for surgical step down, and 1:5-6 for lower acuity
• Shift: NIGHTS 36 HOURS ONLY 13-26 weeks accepted
• Float Requirement: Will follow unit rotation - not first to float
• Weekend Requirement: 4 per 4 weeks (flexible)

Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.

Patient Diagnoses: Atrial Fibrillation, CHF, ACS, CAD, Aortic stenosis/regurgitation, Mitral Regurgitation/Stenosis, Endocarditis, Cardiomyopathy, PVD PAD, Vasculitis, Carotid stenosis, Venous stasis, sheath management, sheath removal.

Special Procedures / Unit Details: CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman procedure), VATS, Carotid endarterectomy, FEM-POP bypass, Amputations, Other vascular surgeries, Cardiac surgeries, Thoracic surgeries, General thoracic surgery, Post cath, Post DCCV, Post electrophysiology procedures, Pacemaker placements.

Special Equipment: Arterial lines (not required), Doppler, Bladder scanner, EKG, Femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, Chest tubes, Epicardial Pacing Wires.

Unit Systems (Medication, Documentation, Communication): Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR

Unit Orientation: 24 hours

Scrubs: Navy
