Maintenance Manager

Maintenance ManagerLead and support maintenance operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all facilities, equipment, utilities, and production assets. Oversee maintenance personnel, preventive maintenance programs, equipment reliability initiatives, contractor activities, and maintenance systems while partnering with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Safety, and Supply Chain teams to support production goals and continuous improvement efforts.Maintenance OperationsPlan, prioritize, and oversee maintenance activities to support production schedules and equipment reliability.Maintain and administer the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, downtime tracking, inventory management, and reporting.Develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and reduce unplanned downtime.Monitor equipment performance and maintenance metrics and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and efficiency.Coordinate maintenance work with production and department leaders to minimize operational disruptions.Lead maintenance-related downtime events and ensure timely resolution of equipment and facility issues.Maintain spare parts inventory and support effective inventory control practices.Support startup, commissioning, and maintenance readiness activities for new equipment and capital projects.Safety, Compliance & Continuous ImprovementEnsure compliance with all safety policies, Lockout/Tagout procedures, machine guarding requirements, contractor safety programs, and regulatory standards.Conduct investigations and root cause analysis for equipment failures, maintenance-related issues, and safety concerns.Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency.Partner with cross-functional teams to support productivity improvements, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.Anticipate maintenance challenges and implement solutions that support safe and reliable operations.Team LeadershipSupervise, coach, and develop maintenance personnel.Monitor attendance, timecards, and PTO in a timely manner.Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, counseling, and performance evaluations.Coordinate training, skill development, and cross-training initiatives to support workforce flexibility and technical growth.Foster a collaborative team environment focused on safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement.Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to identify and implement process improvements.Budget & Resource ManagementManage maintenance spending, contractor services, inventory investments, and departmental budgets.Evaluate repair and replacement options to support equipment lifecycle management and operational objectives.Monitor maintenance costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and resource optimization.Other DutiesPerform other duties within the scope of this role as assigned by management in alignment with the employee's skills and organizational needs.ObjectivesEnsure maintenance activities are completed safely, accurately, and on time.Improve equipment reliability, uptime, and maintenance performance.Maintain compliance with company safety standards and maintenance procedures.Improve maintenance processes and operational efficiency.Develop team capabilities through coaching, training, and performance feedback.Support production goals through effective maintenance planning and execution.CompetenciesCommunicates Effectively: Communicates respectfully and effectively with customers, fellow workers, and management, including communicating proactively when encountering issues or challenges that may affect the timely completion of tasks or projects.Customer Focus: Continuously pays attention to customer (internal and/or external) needs and adapts as relationships evolve. The ability to exhibit safety leadership by influencing and inspiring others to adopt safe behaviors and attitudes.QualificationsEducation: Associate's Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Technology, or a related field required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.Experience and/or Training: 7-10 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Previous leadership or supervisory experience required. Experience with preventive maintenance systems, equipment reliability programs, and CMMS platforms preferred.Technology/Tools: Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Experience with maintenance reporting, work order management, and equipment performance tracking preferred.Physical and Mental DemandsStanding, walking, speaking, hearing, and seeing throughout the workday in both office and manufacturing environments. Listen and observe the environment for hazard prevention. Use hands for tools, equipment, and computer operation. Occasionally lift up to 70 lbs. Some tasks may require the employee to bend, stoop, twist, reach, climb, and work around production equipment. Ability to analyze problems, prioritize work, make decisions, and respond effectively to changing operational demands.Working EnvironmentIndoor office and manufacturing environment. Exposure to moving machinery, forklifts, mechanical equipment, dust, noise, and varying temperatures. Certain areas may require the use of personal protective equipment. Regular interaction with production operations, maintenance shops, and equipment throughout the facility.
