In this role, you will provide essential non-clinical assistance that helps ensure a safe, efficient, and patient-centered operating room environment, and support our perioperative services team. This position is ideal for individuals interested in healthcare, patient safety, and teamwork within a fast-paced surgical setting. Participation in a rotating call schedule is required, and the final shift will be determined upon completion of orientation.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients to and from the operating room and perioperative areas
• Assist with patient positioning and transfers using proper body mechanics and equipment
• Provide comfort and reassurance to patients as directed by clinical staff

• Prepare operating rooms by setting up equipment, furniture, and supplies
• Clean and turnover operating rooms between procedures following infection prevention guidelines.
• Stock and organize supplies and equipment.
• Transport soiled instruments, equipment, and waste according to policy.

• Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality (HIPAA) standards.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or hazards.
• Work closely with nurses, surgical technologists, anesthesia staff, and physicians to support efficient case flow.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Commitment to patient safety, professionalism, and teamwork.

Preferred:

• Prior experience in a hospital, operating room, or patient care environment
• Knowledge of safe patient handling and healthcare safety practice
