Overall Job Summary:

Complete tasks assigned by the GM as a member of the baking and pastry department.

Essential Job Functions:

• Responsible for efficient production
• Must understand basic baking methods including but not limited to mousses, custards, French macarons, caramel, meringues, buttercreams
• Proficient piping skills-French macarons, filling mousse cups, rosettes, writing on cakes/eclairs, borders on cakes
• Tart production
• Filling choux
• Building tortes/petit fours/French butter cookies
• Cutting precisely and accurately
• Understanding proper methods/times for proofing yeasted items
• Understanding proper baking times
• Cake decorating of both buttercream and fondant cakes as well as wedding cakes

The Success Patterns for this position are:

• Experience working in customer service and/or the foodservice/hospitality industry preferred
• Has a reputation for giving great service to guests and co-workers
• Can handle multiple tasks at one time
• Has good problem solving skills
• Has strong interpersonal skills
• Is able to work independently and as a member of a team
• Communicates professionally in person and on the phone
• Can maintain high energy during the entire shift
• Can work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change quickly
