Health Care Aide (McLennan)

Position Overview Alberta Health Services (AHS) is Canada’s first fully integrated provincial healthcare system. This position is based in the Sacred Heart Community Hospital in McLennan, Alberta. AHS offers a comprehensive benefits plan that includes health, dental, vision, disability, and lifestyle benefits. A remote retention allowance of up to $3,000 annually may be eligible. Responsibilities Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide personal assistance and support services to patients (clients, residents) as outlined in the patient care plan and facility policies. Assist patients, families, and caregivers with activities of daily living, hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation, and safety needs. Assist nurses with routine care, organized activities, programs, and observe/report patient mood, health, and wellbeing. Maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors and communicate effectively with health professionals. Qualifications Completion of a Health Care Aide Certificate within 18 months of hire and active status in the Alberta Health Care Aide Directory; provide confirmation letter of enrolment. Alternative: Nursing students enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program who have completed at least 100 practicum hours and are in the 1st year of practical nursing or in the 2nd year of baccalaureate or psychiatric nursing will be considered.
