Job-ID: 26005038Category: EngineeringLocation: Houston, TX, United StatesSchedule: Full timePosted: 2026-10-26Job Overview:Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for specification, selection, analysis, and technical oversight of rotating equipment and packaged equipment for the projectQualificationsEssential Qualifications and Education:B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or ABET Approved CurriculumMinimum 15 years of experience with Rotating Equipment and Packaged Equipment with detailed knowledge of equipment codes/standardsMust be proficient in Microsoft officeExperience with FEED and EPC phase of projectsLead position experience in large projects managing a team of minimum of 5 Mechanical EngineersPreferred Qualifications:PE License is preferredCustomer focused, dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customersRelates well to all levels and kinds of people; able to build appropriate rapport; listens wellSelf-starter; results driven; anticipates/initiates and implements solutionsExcellent verbal and written communication skills#LI-CA1#LI-DNIResponsibilitiesKey Tasks and Responsibilities:Engineering of Rotating Equipment and Packaged EquipmentCarry out specific project tasks and responsibilities as requiredConduct all activities in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with McDermott's policies and procedures, while ensuring the welfare of personnel and the protection of assets and the environment at all timesParticipate in Pre-FEED and FEED studies as per Project requirementsProvide technical clarifications to any comments raised by other departments, clients, classification society, etc. throughout the project engineering phaseCoordinate technical bid review of equipment with the other engineering disciplines involvedLiaise with equipment vendors for any pending technical issues to be solved during project execution to ensure that package is technically compliant with engineering expectations in coordination with the ClientHighlight risk associated with the critical equipment interfaces and develop/implement mitigation plans accordinglyProvide day-to-day support to a wide number of internal clientsPotential future role as Overall Mechanical Lead for projectsAbout the company Our ingenuity fuels daily life.
