Essential Duties and Responsibilities Receives instructions, prints and work orders for the job. Plans details of working procedure and tools and, material requirements. Perform minor maintenance on equipment. Assume responsibility and care of assigned tools and equipment. Observe and practice safety procedures and policies. Other duties as required. Attendance is an essential job function. Duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Manual and machine TIG/MIG. Understanding of the use of measuring devices, such as micrometers, calipers, tapes etc. Qualified to read blueprints. Fabricates equipment by cutting, burning, and welding various metals. Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded. Subject completed welding tasks to appropriate inspections. Strong understanding of TIG/MIG welding procedures & processes. Must have experience working with steel, aluminum and stainless steel. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and AWS welding symbols. Ability to perform welds that pass a visual inspection and destructive test. Ability to use measuring tools (tape measures, squares, rules and dial calipers). Basic math skills; must be able to perform conversions and basic calculations. Knowledge of welding machines and set up. Ability to operate hand/air tools and electric grinders. 1 in Arizona this is considered a Safety Sensitive position. Educational/Certification Requirement High School diploma or equivalent experience. Two-year vocational welding program or equivalent experience. Experience Requirement Work Experience 4+ years of experience in welding. Ability to move arms, hands and fingers to type. Close vision required. Environmental Exposure The worker has protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Required to wear personal protective equipment where applicable. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: Fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases or poor ventilation. Subject to hazards including electrical current, moving mechanical parts, and exposure to chemicals. May involve exposure to noise hazard area. Overnight Travel Work may require out of town travel depending upon assignment (training and meeting).
