Focus Care Clinic Advanced Practice Provider

The Focus Care Clinic Advanced Practice Provider (FCC APP) is a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), supervising clinic patient care in the Focus Care Clinic or other areas as assigned. They will use their skills to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients in the clinic while adhering to YKHC guidelines and maintaining professional standards. Provides regular coverage in the YKHC Focus Care Clinic/Outpatient Clinic as assigned, providing primary (acute, chronic and preventive) health care and emergency care to those seeking health services. Is responsible for care of all patients from birth to elderly. In addition, the FCC APP shall be committed to contributing to the mission of the Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC), "Working Together to Achieve Excellent Health." This position reports to the Outpatient Service Chief.

Position Qualifications:

• PA/NP must have completed an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Training Program and received and maintained certification and licensure.
• Minimum four years of experience in Outpatient Clinic environments. Experience should include all aspects of family practice, routine and emergency/urgent care and chronic patient care for adults, pediatric, OBGYN, and prenatal care. Should be confident in suturing, splinting, and other emergency care/procedures.
• Must have or obtain Alaska License and DEA license and National Certification for credentials.
• Must have the computer skills needed to access electronic medical records.
• Needs the skills and knowledge to practice medicine in the area of their specialty.
