Cost Accountant

Join to apply for the Cost Accountant role at Blommer Chocolate Company . Blommer Chocolate Company is seeking a qualified Cost Accountant to support its finance and commodity teams. This role requires expertise in inventory analysis, reconciliation, and financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Manage and track intercompany transfers of commodity inventory to plants, reconciling receipts and entry of transactions in the system. Enter, manage, and reconcile commodity purchase pricing, working with inventory agency (Itochu) to reconcile purchases and invoices. Reconcile commodity inventory monthly, updating records in collaboration with warehouses. Verify purchases, transfer orders, and entries between systems, addressing issues with warehouse reporting and calculating accruals for inventory damages. Assist in inventory purchase forecasting and planning, including cash needs, and create reporting for current and forecasted inventory levels. Review commodity inventory reporting at plants and calculate grind at each plant. Calculate margins on commodity third‑party transactions and forecasted margins on contracted commodity sales. Prepare ad‑hoc financial analysis and summarize conclusions for supporting departments. Support new or upgraded information systems to improve financial reporting. Comply with all Blommer policies, procedures, and the core values of respect and care for others. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of inventory or FP&A experience. Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office suite. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience in diverse accounting and financial analysis; knowledge of commodities and hedging a plus. Ability to analyze data and solve problems. Organizational and time‑management skills. Experience with SAP preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related discipline; CPA, CMA, CGMA, PMP or other certifications a plus. Physical Requirements Office environment; majority of time using a computer. Travel up to 5% of time. Performance Expectations Maintain high standards to deliver consistent, quality‑driven results.
