This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing employee support, payroll administration, employee engagement, recruiting, benefits, and day-to-day HR operations in a dynamic plant environment.If you're the type of person who enjoys building relationships, solving problems, staying organized, and being visible on the production floor instead of sitting behind a desk all day, we'd love to talk with you.Job DescriptionThe Paymaster/Plant HR Generalist will assist in the execution of staffing, payroll, performance management, employee development, training and succession planning. This hands-on position is responsible for driving the implementation of HR processes and initiatives.What You'll DoAs the Paymaster/Plant HR Generalist, you'll partner closely with plant leadership and employees to deliver exceptional HR support while helping create a positive, engaging, and high-performing workplace.Key responsibilities include:Process and support hourly payroll activities with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.Serve as a trusted HR resource for employees and leaders across the plant.Support recruiting, onboarding, and employee development initiatives.Administer employee benefits programs and answer employee questions.Maintain employee records and HR documentation while ensuring compliance with company policies.Coordinate employee engagement programs, recognition efforts, and plant-wide communication initiatives.Assist with performance management, training, and talent development activities.Support employee and labor relations efforts, including working in a unionized environment when applicable.Partner with plant leadership to address workforce needs and drive a positive employee experience.Maintain a regular presence on the manufacturing floor to build relationships, support employees, and stay connected to plant operations.Assist with HR projects and initiatives that support business objectives and continuous improvement.What Makes You SuccessfulWe're looking for someone who:Thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.Is highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.Has strong payroll knowledge and experience supporting hourly employees.Enjoys interacting with people and building positive working relationships.Is comfortable handling frequent interruptions while maintaining accuracy and responsiveness.Takes a proactive, customer-service-oriented approach to HR.Works collaboratively and is willing to jump in wherever needed to support the team.Enjoys being active and visible throughout the plant rather than working exclusively from an office.This position will report directly to the Plant HR ManagerQualificationsAssociate or Bachelor degree in Accounting, Business or Human Resources is preferredMust have experience in payroll administration in a fast-paced environment, ideally within manufacturingPrefer someone with previous Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment with modern HR processesMust be proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelKnowledge of Ceridian DayForce and SAP are a plusAdditional InformationWhat we offer at O-I:Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is between $70,000 - $80,000 and includes a possible 12% short-term incentive bonus.
