We are seeking experienced cooks to join our team. If interested, please send resume and availability. Our kitchen is open Sun–Thurs 11am–9pm & Fri–Sat 11am–10pm. Responsibilities Develops standard recipes and techniques for food preparation and presentation that help to assure consistently high‑quality dishes and to minimize food costs; exercises portion control for all items served and assists in establishing menu selling prices Produce high quality plates both design and taste wise Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards Fill in for the Executive Chef/Executive Sous Chef in planning and directing food preparation when necessary Resourcefully solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation Manage and train kitchen staff, establish working schedule and assess staff’s performance Order supplies to stock inventory appropriately Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers Maintains physical presence on line during times of high business volume Skills Proven experience as a Sous Chef Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures Excellent record of kitchen and staff management Accuracy and speed in handling emergency situations and providing solutions Familiar with industry’s best practices Working knowledge of various computer software programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS) Prior Lavu experience a plus! Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Science or related certificate preferred, but not required Physical Requirements & Working Conditions Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays Must be able to be on feet for long periods of time Required to climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend stretch and twist or reach Push, pull or lift to 50 pounds Work in hot, humid and noisy environments #J-18808-Ljbffr Torsap Thai Kitchen
