Schedule

Day shift, 3x12-hour (06:30 AM - 07:00 PM), with weekend requirements of every other weekend, totaling 6 weekend shifts over the contract period.

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) will provide comprehensive respiratory care for patients in both long-term care and acute care settings. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of critical care procedures and equipment management, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Administer respiratory therapy treatments and manage ventilators.
• Perform patient assessments and monitor respiratory status.
• Conduct procedures including intubation assistance, extubation, and tracheostomy care.
• Provide pulmonary hygiene and patient education on respiratory care.
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and alarms.
• Collect sputum specimens and perform ABG sampling.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop care plans.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 1 year of experience in adult critical care and emergency department settings.
• Must hold an active RRT license in the state of New York prior to submission.
• Required certifications: BLS, RRT.
• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred.
• Long-term care experience is a plus.
