Business Valuation Manager

Position Summary Our Deloitte Strategy & Transactions team helps guide clients through their most critical moments and transformational initiatives. We offer comprehensive end-to-end support and advisory services, covering areas such as valuation modeling, cost optimization, restructuring, business design and transformation, infrastructure and real estate, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and sustainability. As a professional in our business valuation practice you will have an opportunity to gain valuable experience working with leading valuation specialists to help our clients understand, analyze, and respond to various business opportunities and challenges.Work you’ll doAs a Manager on the Valuation & Modeling team, you will be responsible for:Performing financial reporting valuations for business combinations, including purchase price allocations, enterprise values, intangible assets, and legal entitiesSupporting goodwill and indefinite-lived and long-lived asset impairment analyses for financial reporting purposesConducting valuations for tax purposes across federal, state, local, international, and personal tax matters, including tax purchase price allocationsAssisting clients with business plan development, strategic investment decisions, and other financial objectives through valuation analysesLeading day-to-day engagement execution by collaborating with client stakeholders, communicating technical findings clearly, and coaching junior team members across multiple concurrent projectsA successful candidate would possess these skills:Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a teamEffective written and verbal communication skillsMeticulous attention to detail and quality of work productAbility to build and sustain professional relationshipsAbility to lead projects or workstreamsAbility to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentStrong interpersonal skills and professional demeanorAbility to meet deadlinesAbility to provide clear guidance to othersThe teamOur Valuation & Modeling team provides financial modeling for business planning, transactions, and operational improvements. We conduct valuation for tax purposes, regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), litigation, bankruptcy, and risk management. Additionally, we support audit processes with fair value measurements.Qualifications Required:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business6+ years of business valuation and intangible asset valuation consulting experienceExperience applying cost, market, and income valuation approaches and methodologies, including discounted cash flow, guideline public company, guideline transaction, excess earnings, relief from royalty, with-and-without, comparative sales, replacement cost, and capital asset pricing model methodologiesExperience building financial models to value common stock, business entities, and intangible assets, and conducting client, economic, industry, competitor, and ratio analysesExperience preparing and reviewing valuation reports, exhibits, letters, and other client deliverables; proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPointExperience supervising, training, and developing junior staff and assessing performanceAbility to travel 30%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serveLimited immigration sponsorship may be availablePreferred:Fair Value experienceMaster's degree in FinanceASA, CFA or CPAExperience leveraging AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT) to enhance workflows, research, and deliverable preparationsThe wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $144,300 to $240,500.You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
