Senior Director, US Patient Support Affordability Strategy & Progarms

Vertex Pharmaceuticals seeks a Senior Director to lead US patient affordability programs, including copay assistance, patient assistance, and bridge programs. The role requires developing strategy, building teams, managing vendors, and ensuring patient access while maintaining compliance and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute US patient affordability strategy including program objectives and performance roadmap
• Design, implement, and optimize copay, patient assistance, bridge, and access-support programs
• Build, lead, and develop high-performing team for affordability operations and analytics
• Oversee external vendors for operational performance, service quality, and compliance adherence
• Define performance standards, KPIs, and drive continuous improvement across affordability offerings

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, finance, life sciences, or public health
• 12+ years progressive experience in patient support, affordability programming, or healthcare operations
• 7+ years leadership experience managing teams and complex cross-functional programs
• Direct experience designing and managing copay assistance and patient assistance programs
• Demonstrated vendor management and external partner coordination experience
• Strong understanding of US reimbursement landscape and patient access barriers
• Expertise in healthcare analytics, performance metrics, and data-driven decision making
