ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher with a California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential for the 2026–2027 school year in Palo Alto, CA. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide specialized instruction and support to students in a 6th–8th grade Special Day Class (SDC) setting.

This assignment provides the opportunity to work closely with middle school students while collaborating with an educational team focused on student growth, academic progress, and success.

Assignment Details:

• Full-Time

• 6th–8th Grade

• Special Day Class (SDC)

• Start Date: ASAP

• End Date: June 5, 2027

• School Hours: 8:15 AM – 2:45 PM

• Location: Palo Alto, CA

• $38–55/hour depending on experience, related skills, and district budget

Qualifications:

• Valid California Mild/Moderate Education Specialist Credential required

• Experience working with middle school students in a special education setting preferred

• Experience working in an SDC classroom preferred

• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills

• Knowledge of special education compliance, IEP development, and implementation

• Commitment to supporting students with diverse academic, behavioral, and learning needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction aligned with student IEP goals and California state standards

• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

• Support students in a 6th–8th grade SDC classroom

• Collaborate with families, related service providers, administrators, general education staff, and special education teams

• Implement evidence-based academic and behavioral interventions

• Collect and maintain accurate student progress data and documentation

• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team collaboration

• Create a structured, positive, and supportive classroom environment
