Job Summary:

Provide specialized post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgical procedures, ensuring their vital signs, airway, and pain levels are monitored and managed effectively. Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and comfort throughout recovery.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Continuously monitor patients vital signs and level of consciousness during post-anesthesia recovery.
  
  
• 
  Manage airway patency and respiratory function, intervening promptly if complications arise.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications for pain control, nausea, and hydration to enhance patient comfort.
  
  
• 
  Assess surgical sites for bleeding or complications, checking dressings and performing physical evaluations.
  
  
• 
  Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in medical records.
  
  
• 
  Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and team members regarding patient status and care plans.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Minimum of 2 years experience working in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
  
  
• 
  Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  
  
• 
  Valid Michigan RN license.
  
  
• 
  Proven ability to assess and respond rapidly to postoperative complications.
  
  
• 
  Strong documentation and communication skills.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrated team collaboration and patient care skills.
