Travel - Registered Nurse - PCU/IMC/Stepdown

Nurse Position in Morgantown, West Virginia

You are invited to apply for a Nurse position in a 29-bed stepdown and med-surg unit. This role requires managing ratios of 3:1 for stepdown patients and 6:1 for floor patients, primarily serving a diverse population with medical diagnoses.

• Shift: Weekend day shift, 7a-7:30p, Friday, Saturday, Sunday OR Saturday, Sunday, Monday
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Shift Length: 12 hours

About the Unit

• This is a new flex unit serving both floor and step-down patients, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2026.
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 3:1 for stepdown and 6:1 for the floor.
• RNs will titrate drips based on written orders.
• Common titratable drips include heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrhythmics, phenobarbital, ketamine, and morphine/dilaudid/fentanyl PCAs.
• RNs are not required to read their own telemetry strips, as central monitoring is provided.
• Charge RNs can take an assignment, but the goal is to operate with a free charge RN.
• There are Clinical Associates (CAs) available, with a ratio of 1:10.
• Respiratory equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and HiFlow; vents are managed in ICU.
• Weekend and holiday requirements are expected, with recruitment focused on agency RNs.
• Self-scheduling is not guaranteed, but efforts are made to accommodate requests.
• Dress code includes any combination of royal blue and white.

Requirements

• 1 year of experience required.
• BLS (AHA) certification is required.
• EPIC experience is a must-have skill.
