About the Position of Automotive Mechanic As Mavis' leaders in undercar repairs, our Automotive Mechanics are trusted to inspect, diagnose, and perform a wide variety of automotive services on customers' vehicles. They handle undercar repairs—including brakes, struts, and shocks—and complete state-mandated inspections, change oil and filters, check fluids, replace worn parts, and dismount, mount, rotate, and balance tires. Qualifications To be eligible for this position you must: Be at least 18 years of age. Be legally authorized to work in the United States. Possess at least 2 years of experience and/or training in automotive repair and maintenance, or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties. Have an extensive toolbox of personal tools used in performing undercar repairs. Preferred additional qualifications include: State inspection license(s). ASE Certifications in Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair (G1), Suspension and Steering (A4), and Brakes (A5). Physical requirements: Mechanics must stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, pull, reach, and perform repeated movements required for vehicle maintenance.
