Roberts & Son Black Oxide Specialist Inc is currently looking for a General Laborer to join our company.

• Hi-Lo Operation. (We will train you).
• Excellent customer service skills and communication.
• Racking and un-racking steel parts.
• Handling responsibility in shipping and receiving.
• Knowledge of Microsoft word, Excel, and a I-Pad Tablet.
• Electrical and Plumbing Common Knowledge a bonus.
• Grinding and TIG Welding Knowledge a bonus.

Qualifications:

• Must be organized, self-motivated, not afraid to get dirty, and eager to learn.
• No Black Oxide experience necessary for our General Labor position. 
• Be able to lift 50lbs.
• Be able to stand for 8 hours.
• Be able to add & subtract and use a measuring tape.
• Have a very good attendance record.
• Must Be On Time.

Compensation and benefits:

• Starting pay - $17.00-$18.00 per hour.
• Health Insurance, HSA, Dental, Optical after 90 days (employee participation).
• Company Holidays paid after 1 year.
• 1 PTO hour earned every 30 hours worked. You could earn up to 67 PTO hours your first year. Accrual starts at time of hire and can be used after 120 days worked.
• Simple IRA after 1 year. Company contribution ranges from 1% to 3%.

The Black Oxide process is a dip process in which the steel or iron parts are chemically converted to magnetite (FE3O4) a protective iron oxide. Since this is a conversion process, there is no change in dimensions, hardness or surface properties. The final finish depends on the original finish – a polished surface retains its gloss, and a dull surface retains its matte finish.
