Patient Access Coordinator

The Infusion Referral Coordination Specialist is responsible for managing the infusion referral lifecycle, ensuring timely and accurate processing of referrals from receipt through completion. This role involves reviewing and verifying referral documentation, conducting benefits verification and prior authorizations, coordinating with patients, providers, and internal teams, and maintaining detailed patient records. The specialist must work independently in a fast-paced, remote environment while managing a high volume of referrals and competing priorities with accuracy and attention to detail. Responsibilities:

• Review incoming referrals and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Route incoming faxes and documentation to appropriate departments.
• Initiate workflows to support timely referral and order processing.
• Identify and follow up on missing referral information to obtain required documentation.
• Review payer medical policies and billing guidelines to determine documentation, authorization, and step-therapy requirements.
• Monitor incomplete referrals and ensure all necessary information is received.
• Coordinate with Sales and Intake teams to advance referrals through the intake process.
• Create and maintain patient records with accurate documentation of referral processing.
• Obtain renewal/change orders and supporting notes for active patients.
• Enter and update orders for nursing review.
• Conduct benefits verification and obtain prior authorizations for patients.
• Communicate with referring providers, internal teams, and patients regarding orders, documentation, and expiring authorizations.
• Provide patients with information on benefit coverage and copay assistance programs.
• Review intake information with patients and obtain required acknowledgements.
• Manage multiple referrals simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting turnaround times.
• Proactively communicate to resolve barriers and support timely treatment access.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration, Health Information Management, Health Sciences, Medical Assisting, Nursing, Allied Health, Public Health, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of infusion experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of infusion referral and intake workflows.
• Experience managing referrals from receipt through completion.
• Benefits verification and prior authorization experience.
• Experience reviewing payer requirements and medical policies.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and follow-through skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple competing responsibilities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
• Pharmacy knowledge.

• Experience with WeInfuse and/or InfuseFlow systems.
• Experience working in a high-volume Patient Access environment.
• Collaborative and patient-focused approach.

• Position is 100% remote, with preference for candidates in the Eastern Time Zone for operational coverage.
• Must be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, remote environment.
• Temporary contract position with initial duration of 90 180 days and potential for reassessment or conversion.
• Two-round Microsoft Teams interview process required.

• Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Eastern Time.
