Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (3x12-Hour Shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Every Other Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and triage settings within an acute care hospital environment
• Perform fetal heart monitoring and high-risk pregnancy monitoring
• Assist with and support vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections
• Float to postpartum unit to provide couplet care (maternal and newborn) as staffing needs require
• Participate in newborn care in the delivery room as applicable
• Chart accurately and efficiently using Epic electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered California RN license (must be in hand prior to start; no pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification or NCC EFM certification required
• ACLS and BLS certifications required (American Heart Association)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• LA fire card obtained within the last 30 days required prior to start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience performing newborn care and assessments in the delivery room
• Prior postpartum couplet care experience (maternal and newborn)
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health records charting system
