HR Payroll + Benefits Specialist

Job Summary: The HR Payroll + Benefits Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the HR department by managing payroll, HRIS administration, and benefits. Key duties include ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, leading HRIS projects, facilitating employee benefit enrollments, and managing relationships with benefit providers.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities and Job Requirements:

Payroll + HRIS Administration

• Ensure the accurate and timely processing of payroll, bonuses, and other pay-related items.
• Manage HRIS system projects, including coordination with vendors, internal teams, and leadership.
• Complete system onboarding steps such as I-9 processing and background checks.
• Oversee HRIS system processes for yearly open enrollment, ensuring proper setup and execution of employee benefit enrollment.
• Lead training sessions on the HRIS system and payroll processes for new hires and transfers.
• Support smooth onboarding and offboarding processes for all employees.
• Leverage AI and automation tools to improve payroll, HRIS, and benefits processes increasing efficiency, accuracy, and employee experience.

Benefits

• Administer employee benefit elections during open enrollment, new employee elections, and life event changes.
• Participate in discussions around benefits renewal, plan updates, and policy changes.
• Manage daily relationships with benefit providers.
• Oversee benefits interfaces within the HRIS system.
• Assist in the review and authorization of benefit-related invoices.

Other Responsibilities

• Manage key fob and building security access.
• Assist in developing and administering employee betterment programs.
• Provide HRIS reporting to stakeholders and leadership, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Support other HR team members as needed.
• Assist legal entities (e.g., Wee Folk, BTD, Byrne Mexico, Byrne Asia, Byrne.com) as required.
• All other duties and special projects as assigned.

Experience and General Skills Required:

• Bachelor's Degree Required or at least 2-4 years of applicable experience
• At least 3- 7 years of Human Resources, Payroll or HRIS Analyst experience
• Must have payroll processing, benefits administration and HRIS system experience
• Experience with UltiPro preferred
• High degree of accuracy and must be extremely detail-oriented
• Strong results-orientation and commitment to quality and accuracy
• Effective multi-tasker with demonstrated ability to prioritize
• Excellent communication skills using a variety of communication methods and varying audiences
• Proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality; establish strong credibility and build relationships; operate in an environment of ambiguity
• Possess strong leadership qualities, including effective project management, delegation and feedback
• Must maintain moderate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
