Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit / Stepdown RN – Ohio

Start Date: January 4, 2027

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Days, 36 hours per week, 4:1 patient ratio, 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Sat/Sun for days), float and call required

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown environment caring for adult and geriatric patients with general chronic medical conditions
• Mixed-acuity PCU setting with a 4:1 patient ratio across all shifts
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Float responsibilities within the organization as needed; call coverage required
• 36-hour orientation provided to support transition to the unit
• First-time travelers welcome; candidates with only 1 year of experience will be individually reviewed by the manager

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Proficiency in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, PCU/Stepdown care, isolation precautions, peripheral line management, oxygen administration, and use of rapid response/code teams
• 2 professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference)
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
