About the Position

# Job Opportunity – Postpartum/Antepartum Registered Nurse – Virginia Start Date: October 12, 2026
Location: Central Virginia

Schedule: 13-week assignment, 36 hours per week, rotating day/night shifts every 6 weeks, every other weekend (Friday/Saturday for nights or Saturday/Sunday for days), every other holiday Highlights:

• Postpartum and antepartum patient care with couplet care model in a Baby-Friendly designated unit
• 4:1 patient ratio for days, nights, and weekends with comprehensive interdisciplinary support
• Epic charting system; 24 hours of unit orientation provided
• Float required within skill set, including Level II nursery care in the NICU with orientation support
• Daily census ranges from 15-30 patients across 30 beds
• Up to 40 hours of approved RTO available per contract

Requirements:

• Active Virginia RN license (pending licenses accepted, must be in hand by Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 1 year of postpartum/antepartum nursing experience required
• BLS and NRP certifications required; NCC-EFM and ACLS preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Experience with high-risk antepartum patients, magnesium sulfate therapy, NSTs, and external fetal heart monitoring strongly preferred
• Competency in newborn assessment, phototherapy, thermoregulation, and Level I-II nursery care
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• BSN preferred
