Superior Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing, Inc. (SEMP) is a leading provider of skilled trade services throughout California. Our Commercial Maintenance Division is currently seeking a Skilled Laborer to support apartment renovation and maintenance projects throughout Los Angeles County. In this role, the Skilled Laborer will perform a variety of construction and maintenance tasks, including framing repairs, drywall patching and installation, flooring repairs, demolition, and general property maintenance. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working in occupied and vacant apartment units, be comfortable using hand and power tools, and be able to complete assignments efficiently while maintaining quality workmanship and safety standards.
Schedule
- Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Overtime may be available but is not guaranteed
Responsibilities
- Perform general construction maintenance in residential and commercial spaces
- Skilled with metal and wood framing repairs
- Install, repair, and finish drywall
- Apply texture and finish work as directed by the construction supervisor
- Demolish existing doors, windows, cabinets, and walls
- Install doors, cabinetry, countertops, and fixtures as directed
- Work independently or collaboratively in a team environment
- Recent and relevant experience in carpentry, maintenance, or a related trade; multi-craft experience with at least four years of experience preferred
- Must provide basic hand and/or power tools necessary to perform assigned work
- Proficient English communication skills required to write reports and emails
- Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs. throughout the work shift
- Ability to work in various weather conditions
- Must have the physical ability to grip, grasp, twist, climb, and descend stairs with or without construction materials
