Role Description AOI Distribution is seeking a motivated, driven, and highly professional Associate Medical Device Sales Representative to join our growing South Jersey team. This is a full-time, field-based position supporting orthopedic implant sales throughout South Jersey, with territory coverage extending from Camden County south through Cape May County. The Associate Sales Representative will work closely with senior sales representatives to develop strong clinical knowledge, establish relationships with orthopedic surgeons and healthcare professionals, and support the continued growth of the territory. Day-to-day responsibilities include: Supporting orthopedic surgical procedures through operating room case coverage and providing technical product assistance to surgical teams. Developing comprehensive knowledge of the Skeletal Dynamics and Medacta product portfolios, including surgical techniques, instrumentation, and clinical applications. Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with orthopedic surgeons, nurses, operating room personnel, and hospital purchasing departments. Identifying and prospecting new customers and business opportunities throughout the assigned territory. Assisting senior sales representatives with territory development, account management, and sales initiatives. Providing product education, demonstrations, and technical information to clinical and non-clinical customers. Managing surgical implant inventory, coordinating and assisting with product deliveries, and ensuring instrumentation and implants are available for scheduled procedures. Maintaining accurate customer records, tracking sales activity, and following through on customer requests. Working flexible hours based on surgical schedules, including early mornings, late nights, weekends and occasional extended operating room coverage. Contributing to territory sales objectives while developing the skills necessary for advancement into a full territory sales representative position. Qualifications Strong interest in medical device sales, orthopedic surgery, and building a long-term career in the orthopedic industry. Previous sales experience or demonstrated ability to develop relationships, prospect new customers, and support business growth. Knowledge of or a strong interest in orthopedics, medicine, anatomy, and surgical procedures. Ability to work professionally and confidently in an operating room environment while adhering to strict hospital protocols. Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated, goal-oriented, competitive, and comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a sales team. Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous healthcare, surgical, operating room, or medical device experience is beneficial but not required. Valid U.S. driver's license and access to a reliable personal vehicle. Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned South Jersey territory, from Camden County through Cape May County. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods during surgical procedures. Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate surgical schedules and customer needs. Healthcare Facility Credentialing Requirements All AOI Distribution field sales professionals are required to obtain and maintain access credentials for hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and other healthcare facilities in order to perform the essential functions of their roles. Candidates must be willing and able to successfully complete all applicable healthcare facility credentialing requirements, including: Compliance with hospital and healthcare facility credentialing policies and procedures. Providing required immunization documentation, including proof of COVID-19 vaccination and boosters, as required by the facilities served and applicable policies. Completing required background checks, health screenings, drug screenings, training, and other facility-specific credentialing requirements. Maintaining active credentials and complying with all operating room safety, infection prevention, and professional conduct standards.
