Radiation Therapist

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our healthcare team at an acute care hospital. The Radiation Therapist will be responsible for delivering precise radiation treatments to patients as prescribed by the physician, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the treatment process. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities Administer radiation therapy treatments according to physician's prescription and established protocols. Perform quality assurance checks on equipment and treatment plans. Position patients accurately for treatment, utilizing immobilization devices as needed. Monitor patients during treatment sessions for any adverse reactions or complications. Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, including treatment delivery and patient progress notes. Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, physicists, and other healthcare professionals. Educate patients and families about the radiation therapy process and potential side effects. Adhere to all safety and infection control policies and procedures. Participate in ongoing training and continuing education to maintain competency. Required Qualifications Must be a first-time traveler. Must specify RTO at the time of submission. Locals are accepted. Pending licenses are not accepted. Guaranteed hours are provided, with the facility able to call off once per two-week pay period. Experience 1 year of experience required. Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) American Registry for Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - Therapy Schedule / Shift Block scheduling may be accommodated per manager discretion.
