Description The authorized level of the positions is Clinical Psychologist VI. Applications are being accepted down to the Clinical Psychologist V in the event of recruiting difficulties. Salary Range Clinical Psychologist V, SR-24: $6,043.00 - $7,351.00 per month Clinical Psychologist VI, SR-26: $6,535.00 - $7,952.00 per month Examples of Duties Perform professional work concerned with the development and application of theories, principles, methods and techniques relating to the development, behavior, capacities, traits, interests and activities of individuals in order to measure, predict, prevent, modify or induce behavior, especially as these activities relate to individuals and/or groups with serious problems of personality, social and emotional adjustment or mental retardation. Perform professional work in clinical psychology at a level of professional maturity. Provide psycho‑diagnostic, psychotherapeutic, consultative services. Perform work in prevention, training and/or research. Some positions may include supervision over other multidisciplinary professional staff who perform program services in their respective areas of competence. Perform other duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Successful completion of all requirements for a doctoral degree in clinical psychology, including an internship in clinical psychology. If the internship is not completed, one year of professional work experience in the field of clinical psychology may substitute. Successful completion of all requirements for a doctoral degree in a specialty related to clinical psychology, with an internship in clinical psychology or a post‑doctoral clinical internship. If the internship is not completed, one year of post‑doctoral clinical psychology experience under competent professional supervision may substitute. Holds a doctoral degree from a training program approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) or a regionally accredited institution, and meets experiential requirements for inclusion in the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology. Holds a diplomate certificate in good standing granted by the American Board of Examiners in Professional Psychology. Has a valid license to practice psychology in the State of Hawaii. NOTE: If you will graduate within six months of application and will meet the education requirement upon graduation, you must provide a letter attesting to such from your department chair or university, along with your most current official transcripts. NOTE: For Level VI applicants, a minimum of one additional year of professional clinical psychology experience involving psycho‑diagnostic and psychotherapeutic services to individuals with severe problems of personality, social, emotional adjustment, or mental retardation is required. This experience must be comparable to Level V in the State service. License Requirement Within two years from the date of appointment as a Clinical Psychologist V or higher, the applicant must obtain a license issued by the Hawaii State Board of Psychology and maintain it in compliance with Chapter 465, HRS. Driver’s License Requirement Some positions require applicants to possess a current, valid driver’s license. Benefits Summary Paid holidays (13 per year, 14 in an election year).
