The New York Islanders Hockey Club is one of the most iconic franchises in professional sports, with a deeply passionate and loyal fan base that is second to none. Built on a Dynasty in the 1980’s with four straight Stanley Cup Championships and 19 consecutive playoff series wins, our history has defined a legacy that remains untouched in professional sports. In 2021, the New York Islanders moved to our new permanent home, UBS Arena. This state-of-the-art venue, which was built for hockey and made for music, is nestled within the historic Belmont Park – a storied landmark of New York. UBS Arena features best in class facilities and amenities, including premium suites, clubs, and lounges that offer boutique hospitality to elevate the guest experience. UBS Arena is part of a larger redevelopment project at Belmont Park, which aims to transform the area into a vibrant entertainment destination with the opening of Belmont Park Village in 2024 and the new Belmont Park Racetrack in 2026.

How to Make the Team

The New York Islanders are seeking a passionate and detail-driven Coordinator, Merchandise Operations to join our dynamic team! This is an exciting opportunity to support merchandise operations across the Islanders’ ecommerce and retail channels on our unified Shopify platform. The Merchandise Operations Coordinator will manage purchase orders, process vendor invoices, and set up product styles and listings so our fans get accurate, consistent product experiences whether they’re shopping online or in-store. This role works cross-functionally with the Merchandise Operations Manager, Finance, Marketing, and IT to keep our ecommerce and retail catalog running smoothly. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-obsessed, and ready to bring energy and precision to the day-to-day engine behind Islanders retail. Show Us You Can

• Create, issue, and track purchase orders with vendors, supporting both ecommerce and retail assortments
• Set up and maintain product styles, SKUs, pricing, and imagery in Shopify, ensuring consistency across ecommerce and retail
• Process vendor invoices, matching against purchase orders and receipts, and resolve discrepancies with Finance
• Monitor open PO status and follow up with vendors on ship dates, delays, and fulfillment issues
• Maintain accurate inventory records and coordinate with the warehouse and retail stores on receiving and allocation
• Support new product launches by ensuring timely style setup and catalog publishing across all channels
• Execute the day-to-day retail marketing calendar set by the Merchandise Operations Manager — tracking key dates, coordinating asset and content deadlines with marketing channel owners, and flagging timeline risks before they affect a launch
• Assist with product data audits and catalog clean-up projects to keep the Shopify catalog accurate
• Coordinate with Marketing and Creative teams to gather product imagery, descriptions, and content needed for style setup
• Partner with the Merchandise Operations Manager on reporting for receipts, and open PO status
• Respond to internal and customer inquiries related to product data, order, and inventory issues

Your Training & Talent

• 1-3 years of experience in merchandising, ecommerce operations, retail buying support, or a related role
• Experience with Shopify or a similar platform for product/style setup strongly preferred
• Familiarity with purchase order systems and invoice/accounts payable processes
• Strong analytical skills; proficient in Excel and comfortable working with data entry and reporting tools
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for coordinating with vendors, warehouse, Finance, and Marketing
• Highly organized and detail-oriented; able to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively

Where You’ll Go

• Based out of the New York Islanders’ corporate offices in Floral Park, NY, with a hybrid schedule (in-office 3+ days per week)
• Periodic visits to retail locations — including the Team Store at UBS Arena, Northwell Health Ice Center, and Iceworks — to support cross-channel alignment and in-season execution
• Occasional attendance at games and other events as business needs require, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays

The salary range for this position is between $50,000.00-$55,000.00 annually. Actual base pay for a successful candidate will be determined based on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to, skills, education, training, experience and market demands.
