Position Senior Tech - Ultrasound Responsibilities The General and Vascular Imaging Ultrasound technologist is responsible for the day‑to‑day operations (patient flow) and efficiency of the ultrasound department. The technologist must have knowledge of all areas within the Ultrasound Department, utilize the principles of continuous quality improvement, and perform ultrasound examinations according to the accepted practices of the ARDMS and Northwest Texas Healthcare System. The technologist prepares technical reports, exam rooms, equipment and supplies for procedures. Performs a variety of technical procedures and assists radiologists and staff physicians with tests. Demonstrates ultrasound echo/vascular skills for all positions. Provides good patient care and communicates effectively with patients, visitors, and staff. Utilizes appropriate leadership skills in supervising students and providing feedback concerning student performance. Ensures a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees by assessing risks and implementing appropriate precautions. American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and/or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
