This position is responsible for assessing, monitoring, recording, and reporting symptoms or changes in patient conditions. RNs are required to maintain accurate patient reports and medical histories. They perform mental and physical assessments, administer medication and treatment to patients, and provide assistance to patients with daily activities. RNs also observe reactions and manage activities with the therapeutic milieu. This includes daily groups, education, and one-on-one interactions with individual patients. Collaboration with other members of the treatment team is essential to ensure the best possible care for the patients. RNs complete individualized treatment plans for each patient upon admission and ongoing with the multidisciplinary treatment team. They plan, implement, and coordinate nursing care activities for patients. Conducting therapies in accordance with patients' diagnoses and needs is a key responsibility. RNs perform treatment interventions following physician orders such as medication administration. Collaboration with physicians, multidisciplinary team members, and outside health and social agencies is required. Efficient discharge plans must be provided, and accurate histories obtained at admission. RNs complete all required documentation relevant to patients in a timely and efficient manner. This includes, but is not limited to, admission paperwork, assessments, and progress notes. Additional skills required include excellent mathematical, analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. RNs assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals, and regulatory standards.
