Gastroenterology Locums in Virginia - Block Schedule with Low Call Volume

Highlights

• Credentialing in 30 days or less
• Travel and lodging provided
• Night call is light - low callback rate of 5%
• Ongoing need - options to extend if desired

Practice Setting

• Mix of inpatient and outpatient care
• Procedures done in on-site Endoscopy Suite
• Support team includes RNs, MAs, NP/PA, and admin staff
• Assignment at Clinch Valley Health in Richlands, VA
• 25 patients per day, 10-bed department

Schedule

• Block-style schedule: M/W/F procedures, Tu clinic, Th split clinic/procedures
• Night call only; no admissions required
• 1:1 call ratio with 30-minute response time
• Weekend/holiday call rotation
• Assignments available starting this summer

Procedures and Cases

• Required: Upper and Lower GI endoscopy, EUS, PEG, biopsy, polyp excision
• Includes esophageal dilation/manometry and small bowel biopsy
• Optional skills: Liver biopsy, Sengstaken/Blakemore tube management

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible (within 5 years) in Gastroenterology
• Active Virginia medical license required
• Minimum 3 years of experience
• Must supervise APPs
• Temporary privileges available

• Credentialing turnaround: 30 days
• Temporary privileges offered
• Hospital is stroke-certified
