Job DescriptionJob Description Location: Azusa, CA | Southern California Project Sites Salary: $175,000–$200,000 annually, with flexibility for exceptional candidates Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire Industry: Commercial General Contracting / Healthcare Construction Work Arrangement: Onsite with travel to active project locations Position Overview Legacy Career Solutions is conducting a high-priority search for an experienced Senior Project Manager / Construction Operations Leader on behalf of an established Southern California general contractor specializing in healthcare and commercial construction. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished construction professional with recent hospital or healthcare construction experience who is ready to take ownership of daily construction operations and work directly with the company President. The ideal candidate has successfully managed complex healthcare construction projects, understands the requirements of working in occupied medical facilities, and has demonstrated the ability to lead project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and multiple concurrent projects. We are seeking a hands-on leader who combines strong technical construction knowledge with operational management, financial oversight, and excellent client relationships. Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day construction operations across multiple healthcare and commercial projects. Provide leadership, guidance, and accountability to project managers, superintendents, and field personnel. Manage complex hospital renovations, tenant improvements, and occupied healthcare construction projects. Ensure compliance with applicable HCAI/OSHPD requirements, infection control protocols, and hospital safety procedures. Oversee project schedules, budgets, manpower planning, subcontractor performance, and quality standards. Review project financial performance, cost projections, change orders, and profitability. Coordinate with hospital representatives, facility management, architects, engineers, and regulatory authorities. Manage shutdown planning, construction phasing, and coordination with ongoing hospital operations. Participate in preconstruction, estimating, contract negotiations, and project planning. Identify potential project risks and implement corrective action before they affect schedules or budgets. Maintain consistent communication with company leadership regarding project performance. Mentor and develop project managers and superintendents while promoting accountability and operational excellence. Required Qualifications 10+ years of progressive commercial construction experience, including senior project management or construction operations leadership. Recent healthcare or hospital construction experience, preferably involving occupied medical facilities. Strong knowledge of HCAI/OSHPD requirements, hospital construction protocols, and regulatory compliance. Familiarity with ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment), ILSM (Interim Life Safety Measures), construction phasing, and hospital shutdown procedures. Direct experience working for a general contractor, managing multiple trades and subcontractors. Demonstrated success overseeing multimillion-dollar construction projects. Experience supervising project managers, superintendents, and construction teams. Strong understanding of construction estimating, scheduling, project budgets, cost controls, and change orders. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work onsite in Azusa and travel to project locations throughout Southern California. Qualifications Experience managing multiple healthcare construction projects simultaneously. Established relationships with Southern California healthcare systems. Experience with Kaiser Permanente or other major hospital networks. Procore or comparable construction management software proficiency. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline. Experience helping a growing general contractor improve operational processes and project accountability. Compensation and Opportunity Base Salary: $175,000–$200,000 annually , with flexibility depending on experience and qualifications.
