Details Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms Teaching hospital with 200-300 births per month Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, low risk antepartum, and high risk antepartum cases Staffing ratio of 1:1 to 1:3 Responsibilities include circulating, OB-GYN, pre-op, post-op, and scrub duties Attends all deliveries including high risk deliveries and GYN surgeries Provides couplet care, low risk antepartum, and transition nursery care Utilizes blood/blood product administration, cardioversion/defibrillation, cooling/warming blankets, drains, epidural pumps, PCA pumps, syringe pumps, and wound vac Administers heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30 Float required to Post-Partum and possibly to Swedish First Hill L&D Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required Epic EMR experience required Certifications required: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate (ACLS preferred) Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood and blood product administration, and central line maintenance (CVC/PICC) Experience with anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy Experience assisting with high risk deliveries, circulating and recovering C-sections, and performing sterile vaginal exams Skilled in epidural anesthesia support, pain assessment/management, and use of IV PCA Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE, antepartum and postpartum care, obstetrical triage, fetal monitoring, and IUPC placement/calibration Wound assessment and care skills required Additional Information Providers may float between sister facilities near the contracted site as needed Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) RTO requests must be submitted upfront prior to offer for consideration First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates accepted at the same rate Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility unless applying as a local candidate Former Providence permanent employees may be eligible after a 3-month separation period, provided they are not within 50 miles of the facility Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years are required Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities as permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem staff American Traveler Job ID P-736136.
