Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Department Profession: RN Specialty: ER Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: At least one year of Registered Nurse experience within the last 24 months and acute critical experience within the last 12 months. License: Current license as a Registered Nurse. Certifications: Evidence of current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification. Must-Have: Ability to handle emergency situations in a prompt, precise, and professional manner. Description: Organizational Requirements: Commitment to the safety and well-being of associates and patients. All associates are required to receive all necessary vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable. Medical and religious exemptions may apply. Job Summary: The position requires successful performance as a Registered Nurse. Knowledge, skill, and ability to provide care in emergency situations are essential. Education and Experience: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing. EMT and ED Tech candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience and be in good standing. Licenses or Certifications: Maintain current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. MICN certification desired to be completed within one year of hire. Other certifications such as NRP, TNCC, and CEN are encouraged. Qualifications: Basic computer skills are necessary. Physical Requirements/Work Environment: Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, reaching, sitting, walking, and standing are required. The capability to lift, transfer, or push a patient side to side, to a sitting position, and to a standing position is necessary. The ability to demonstrate a pull lift of 50 pounds from the floor is needed. Potential exposure to blood and body fluids is a requirement of the job. Job Roles: Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care services appropriate to the patient population served. Able to assess data reflective of patients' status and respond based on age-specific needs. Maintains accurate and continued nursing documentation. Performs head-to-toe assessments on all patients and reassessments per policy. Prepares, administers, monitors, and discontinues IV fluids. Meets professional behavior expectations consistently. Monitors hemodynamic status of patients and interprets results correctly. Willingly performs other duties as assigned.
