Job Description The Controller will oversee and manage all accounting and financial activities within our client's organization. This role requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently and efficiently. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction and hold a college degree in accounting or a related field. Key Responsibilities Financial Management: Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for construction projects. Ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Construction Accounting: Manage job cost accounting, including tracking and analyzing project costs, preparing and reviewing job cost reports, and ensuring proper allocation of expenses. Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding financial performance and project profitability. Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, including accounts receivable and accounts payable. Ensure timely collection of receivables and payment of obligations. Audit and Compliance: Coordinate and support internal and external audits. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and other financial regulations. Financial Systems Management: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of financial systems and software. Ensure accurate and efficient financial processes and reporting mechanisms. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment. Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a strong background in construction. Proven experience in managing financial operations independently. Skills Expertise in construction accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
